Crane services for tree work
Crane work with or without qualified climbers and riggers supplied.
A crane changes what is possible. Where a tree stands over a roof, a pool or a boundary with nowhere to drop, sections can be lifted out over the obstacle rather than lowered through the gap that isn't there.
It is also frequently the safer option on large removals, because it takes the load off the climber and the rigging and puts it on the machine.
And it is the gentlest thing that can happen to a property. Rigging a large tree down means every piece travels through the canopy and across the ground — limbs lowered onto the roof and carried off it, trunk sections dropped and dragged over the lawn. On a crane the material goes up and out instead, and the only thing crossing the yard is the machine, on ground protection mats.
We supply crane work with our own qualified climbers and riggers, or crane and operator alongside another contractor's crew.

Crane services: common questions
- When is a crane worth it?
- When there is nowhere for material to go, when the tree is over something that cannot be damaged, or when the size means rigging it down would put more load through the tree and the climber than is sensible. It often costs less than the alternative because it is much faster.
- How much room does the crane need?
- Less than most people expect, but the set-up point matters more than the total space — reach is a function of radius, and the ground has to carry the outrigger loads. That gets worked out on site before the day.
- Can you supply just the crane?
- Yes — crane and operator alongside another contractor's crew, or the full package with our own climbers and riggers. Which one suits depends on what your crew is set up to do.
